Kranji Sunday 4th November 2018 - Larry Foley Selections

Kranji Sunday 4th November 2018 - Larry Foley Selections

race 1: kranji stakes d (2) (set weights) - 1600m course e (lc) (turf track) time: 13:10 prize money: s$38000

11 - HERO IN THE WIND - Ran on strongly to just miss to Tuscan Artist over this trip last start. Well drawn and should get a good run throughout.
1 - TUSCAN ARTIST - Weakened late over 1800m in this grade last start. Won one of these with Juglall up two starts back. Has the speed to overcome wide gate and can give a sight.
6 - TUN O'REILLY - Not far way last start in similar company over this trip. Only win was on poly and yet to place in six turf outings but could show up over this trip.

race 2: restricted maiden (2 and 3 year old) (weight for age) - 1400m course e (lc) (turf track) time: 13:40 prize money: s$85000

2 - FIGHT TO VICTORY - Placed over this trip last start and upgrade to blinkers may help. Has trialled since and should be prominent.
11 - CARIBBEAN LADY - Placed over this trip last start. Improving and should be running on.
4 - ACROBAT - Ran on from a long way back last start and performance was queried. Can improve with a more positive ride. Watch market.

race 3: class 4 non premier - 1700m (polytrack) time: 14:10 prize money: s$45000

3 - CARNELIAN - Has struggled at recent outings following back-to-back wins in KSD and Class 4. Will appreciate easier grade and suited this distance. Should be running on.
6 - CASH IS KING - Won Maiden easily over 1600m last start. This is harder but shows promise and should be handy throughout.
1 - SUN GENERAL - Caught wide and pushed forward last start but returned lame. Has been freshened and could improve despite wide gate with blinkers on.

race 4: open maiden (weight for age) - 1800m course e (lc) (turf track) time: 14:45 prize money: s$20000

4 - ORDOS LEGEND - Lightly raced and gets blinkers. Should be suited this trip and be hard to hold off.
3 - ACE HARBOUR - Has been trying for a long time but suited here and should be prominent throughout from gate 1.
5 - LIM'S RHYTHM - Has placed at four of past five starts. Step up in distance should suit. Should be running on.

race 5: class 3 (1) - 1100m (polytrack) time: 15:15 prize money: s$80000

3 - NATIONALITY - A two-time winner form Australia who has hit the ground running in Singapore and won easily enough last start to win again here.
8 - NOVA VOCAL - Form look patchy but excuses last start and recent trial impressive enough to keep safe.
2 - RED DAWN - Did enough from wide gate last start in good company to follow here at each-way odds.

race 6: maiden - 1100m (polytrack) time: 15:45 prize money: s$20000

5 - LOOKS GOOD - Found form, race looks suitable and can win from fair gate.
2 - AXEL - Needs things to go his way but excuses last start when supported and will be running on strongly.
7 - THOMAS DE LAGO - Excuses last start before best work late and obviously due prior so can win this.

race 7: kranji stakes d (1) (set weights) - 1600m course e (lc) (turf track) time: 16:20 prize money: s$38000

3 - HOOGA NET - Honest and this turf race looks suitable to knock in second career win.
2 - ROMAN CLASSIC - Had everything covered bar the good swooper last start and goes close here with forward run expected from gate 1.
1 - ZULU WARRIOR - Disappointing with support in similar affair last start but worth another look on maiden win with gate 4 a factor today.

race 8: class 3 - 1600m course e (lc) (turf track) time: 16:55 prize money: s$80000

8 - YAYA PAPAYA - Looked to have some in hand when placing in similar affair last start and wins this without surprising.
1 - STAR JACK - Hard to fault form, mile no issue and in this a very long way.
4 - REDDOT RISING - Gets blinkers after being solid without being a threat last start. Worth another look with 4kg claim.

race 9: class 3 (2) - 1100m (polytrack) time: 17:30 prize money: s$80000

3 - PENNYWISE - Not disgraced on the turf last start, undefeated on the Poly and extremely hard to beat.
10 - RICHEBOURG - Hard to fault two strong wins and will have admirers to make it three straight with headgear added for good measure.
2 - YABADABADOO - Returned to form at his last couple and might be hard to hold out from gate 2.

race 10: class 4 non premier - 1200m course e (lc) (turf track) time: 18:00 prize money: s$45000

5 - JOMO - Super impressive when winning with a leg in the air on debut from wide alley and hard to beat from gate 1.
4 - HOWL - Showed last start why the turf over 1200m is his caper and should be in this a long way.
2 - STAR GENIUS - Honest and will be running on late sans tongue-tie but not suited on the E Course.

Go tell it to the to the marines

Do think about it and do think rationally, long and very hard about it - If you can genuinely tell me that you really know when and where your winners will come from !!

Or else

Go tell it to the marines,

or Go take a long walk off a short pier,

or let me put it to you bluntly - Go get stuffed

It does not much matter at all whether you are selling kachang puteh or a high roller.

It does not much matter at all whether you are selling kachang puteh or a high roller.

It does not much matter whether you are a treasure hunter, gambling, trading, investing or running a business (big or selling kachang puteh). All of them entail a fair degree of risk and a lot of hard work sprinkled with a generous helping of luck.

Zero-Sum Game

Zero-Sum Game

Zero-Sum Game

Poker and gambling are popular examples of zero-sum games since the sum of the amounts won by some players equals the combined losses of the others. In game theory, the game of “Matching Pennies” is often cited as an example of a zero-sum game. ... This is a zero-sum game because one player's gain is the other's loss.

Zero-sum is a situation in game theory in which one person's gain is equivalent to another's loss, so the net change in wealth or benefit is zero. A zero-sum game may have as few as two players, or millions of participants. Zero-sum games are found in game theory, but are less common than non-zero sum games.

In contrast, non-zero-sum describes a situation in which the interacting parties' aggregate gains and losses can be less than or more than zero. A zero-sum game is also called a strictly competitive game while non-zero-sum games can be either competitive or non-competitive.

All the World's a Stage

The meaning of this phrase is that this world is like a stage show, and all human beings are merely actors.

Jacques has spoken this famous phrase in Act-II, Scene-VII of the play As You Like It. He says, “All the world's a stage,/ And all the men and women merely players.” The meaning of this phrase is that this world is like a stage show, and all human beings are merely actors.
