Kranji Sunday 14th October 2018. - Selections from Larry Foley

Kranji Sunday 14th October 2018. - Selections from Larry Foley

race 1: kranji stakes d (1) (set weights) - 1200m course e (sc) (turf track) time: 12:50 prize money: s$38000

5 - TAICHI BELT - Lost it in the protest room last start and can make quick amends with forward run expected on a course that suits.
2 - NORTHERN KNIGHT - Gets blinkers, trialled well and in this a long way if ridden positively from the wide alley.
11 - GOOD WARRIOR - Maiden who returned lame last start but can consider on form prior as will race on the pace on a course that suits.

race 2: restricted maiden (2 and 3 year old) (weight for age) - 1000m (polytrack) time: 13:20 prize money: s$85000

5 - GOLDEN YEARS - Disappointing not to have won for the support he has had at two career starts but blinkers will improve manners and goes close.
2 - GAMELY - Speedy and has placed at three of four poly outings. Trialled well and with upgrade to blinkers should be hard to run down.
7 - PRESENT - By Denman. Dam won twice, once at Listed level over 1400m. Trialled well enough to win on debut.

race 3: class 4 non premier - 1700m (polytrack) time: 13:50 prize money: s$45000

3 - SUN GENERAL - Racing consistently since arrival and just missed over 1800m last start. Improving, Michael Rodd stays on should be prominent throughout with blinkers to visor.
1 - ANGEL HALO - Followed 1600m with narrow defeat over 1800m. Should be prominent throughout and hard to run down.
4 - HOOGA NET - Returned lame last start after a run of consistent form. Won Maiden at 1600m four starts back and should be handy throughout.

race 4: open maiden (weight for age) - 1600m course e (sc) (turf track) time: 14:20 prize money: s$20000

1 - ORDOS LEGEND - Led and was run down last start. May appreciate this distance and should be prominent again.
3 - LIM'S RHYTHM - Placed at four of past five starts. Vlad Duric stays on and despite wide gate with a positive ride can be in the finish.
12 - SHANGANI - Held up badly and showed some improvement last start. Well drawn and should be handy throughout.

race 5: class 5 - 1600m (polytrack) time: 14:55 prize money: s$20000

3 - EVIL SPEEDO - Won well last start and that is better than any of these have done for a long time. Rises 3.5kg but gets Vlad Duric and should be in the finish again.
7 - VENUS DE MILO - Yet to win in 21 starts but not far away at recent outings (and did it tough last start) and if ridden forward from the good gate could be hard to run down.
4 - NEO'S CLASSIC - Placed at two of past three outings and gets 4kg claim. Has won previously at this trip and should be running on.

race 6: class 4 non premier - 1000m (polytrack) time: 15:30 prize money: s$45000

12 - DRONE - Won Maiden at this trip and run down late last start. Well drawn and should be prominent for a long way.
8 - DASH - Won this class and distance three starts back and has been close-up at two subsequent starts. Should be handy throughout.
2 - CLASSIFIED - Just missed two starts back over this trip, Returned not striding out freely and a roarer last start. If recovered will be hard to run down from good gate.

race 7: kranji stakes d (2) (set weights) - 1200m course e (sc) (turf track) time: 16:00 prize money: s$38000

5 - SING ROULETTE - Returned lame last start after solid poly effort when resuming. Suited this class and distance, can lead and win.
4 - PAPERBACK TROOPER - Not far away at both outings since resuming. May find this easier and should get a good run throughout from gate 3.
1 - TURF BEAUTY - Form reads only fairly but looked to have some in hand last start and very much appreciates the company and Rood from a fair gate.

race 8: kranji stakes c (set weights) - 1600m (polytrack) time: 16:35 prize money: s$80000

2 - CAPTAIN JAMIE - Placed in the Guineas, Poly no trouble and will find this company easier than last start. Hard to beat.
6 - STAR EMPIRE - Super honest and doesn't need to find much "Moor" to win with gate 3 a bonus.
5 - KEY SUCCESS - Backed up Class 4 win with very good placing in similar race to this and can follow.

race 9: class 3 - 1400m course e (sc) (turf track) time: 17:05 prize money: s$80000

4 - PENNYWISE - Very smart 3YO who had excuses at only turf run in the Golden Horseshoe and can win this.
10 - GALILEO'S APPROACH - Always a show in races like this and should go forward from gate 4. Each-way.
5 - ENCHANTED MISTER - Jockey suggested issues last start so could forgive but turf form remains a query so take on trust.

8 - BLACK QUAIL - Dead-set leader who had every covered bar the winner last start and can go one better on a course that suits.
1 - GREEN STAR - Form reads only fair but ran on super very late last start and drops to winning Class. Goes close if ridden forward.
12 - HOWL - Speedster who could very well try and pinch a race like this on the E Course and may be value.

Go tell it to the to the marines

Do think about it and do think rationally, long and very hard about it - If you can genuinely tell me that you really know when and where your winners will come from !!

Or else

Go tell it to the marines,

or Go take a long walk off a short pier,

or let me put it to you bluntly - Go get stuffed

It does not much matter at all whether you are selling kachang puteh or a high roller.

It does not much matter at all whether you are selling kachang puteh or a high roller.

It does not much matter whether you are a treasure hunter, gambling, trading, investing or running a business (big or selling kachang puteh). All of them entail a fair degree of risk and a lot of hard work sprinkled with a generous helping of luck.

Zero-Sum Game

Zero-Sum Game

Zero-Sum Game

Poker and gambling are popular examples of zero-sum games since the sum of the amounts won by some players equals the combined losses of the others. In game theory, the game of “Matching Pennies” is often cited as an example of a zero-sum game. ... This is a zero-sum game because one player's gain is the other's loss.

Zero-sum is a situation in game theory in which one person's gain is equivalent to another's loss, so the net change in wealth or benefit is zero. A zero-sum game may have as few as two players, or millions of participants. Zero-sum games are found in game theory, but are less common than non-zero sum games.

In contrast, non-zero-sum describes a situation in which the interacting parties' aggregate gains and losses can be less than or more than zero. A zero-sum game is also called a strictly competitive game while non-zero-sum games can be either competitive or non-competitive.

All the World's a Stage

The meaning of this phrase is that this world is like a stage show, and all human beings are merely actors.

Jacques has spoken this famous phrase in Act-II, Scene-VII of the play As You Like It. He says, “All the world's a stage,/ And all the men and women merely players.” The meaning of this phrase is that this world is like a stage show, and all human beings are merely actors.
