Kranji Sunday 12th August 2018 - Selections from Larry of kranji.racing.com

Kranji Sunday 12th August 2018 - Selections from Larry Foley of kranjiracing.com

race 1: countofmontecristo 2017 stakes kranji stakes d (1) (set weights) - 1800m course c (lc) (turf track) time: 12:50 prize money: s$38000

2 - CRACKING TOTTIE - Still a Maiden but has placed at four of six starts and breeding suggests this trip could suit. Should get a good run throughout with Michael Rodd to ride.
1 - KATE'S KEEPER - 9YO who hasn't won for a long time but suited this class and distance. With blinkers back on and Matthew Poon to ride could show up.
8 - DANGER ZONE - Won Class 5 over this trip on poly last start. This is harder but will run the trip better than most.

race 2: debt collector 2016 stakes maiden - 1200m (polytrack) time: 13:20 prize money: s$20000

3 - ACCUMULATION - Having first poly outing. Looked to be improving when doing it tough last start and subsequent trial with blinkers/pacifiers added suggests he goes well here.
5 - ELENA OF AVALOR - Looked to have every chance last start to break over due maiden status but with 4kg claim and a good gate she gets another chance to break through.
1 - CROUCHING SUN - Distanced at only start in Victoria. Well bred 4YO by Street Cry whose dam won Group 3 Furious stakes and placed at Group 1 level. Trials well. Watch market.

race 3: spalato 2015 stakes class 4 non premier - 1200m course c (lc) (turf track) time: 13:50 prize money: s$45000

1 - LADRONE - Went forward with leaders last start before fading. Should be prominent again from good gate.
10 - PHIDIAS - Placed when resuming but caught wide and only battled last start. Awkwardly drawn again but this is a weak field.
8 - PERFECT COMMANDO - Placed five starts back in this class and that might be good enough in this field.

race 4: flax 2014 stakes class 5 - 1000m (polytrack) time: 14:20 prize money: s$20000

1 - BRING ME JOY - Run down last start in similar company. With Michael Rodd from a good gate will be hard to run down.
12 - TOP BANANA - Showed improvement last start. Well drawn again and will be in this a long way.
10 - YELLOW JADE HORSE - Sixteen start maiden but in solid form and goes close with luck from wide gate.

race 5: mr big 2013 stakes class 2 - 1200m course c (lc) (turf track) time: 14:55 prize money: s$100000

10 - MISTER YEOH - Smart 3YO (now 4YO) from last season freshened after unplaced Lion City run. Wis races like this you would think with no weight.
2 - DINGHU MOUNTAIN - Unsighted last start after being hampered on jumping away but worked home well and another that improves again back on the turf. Can win.
4 - DARC BOUNTY - Had traffic issues last start when he looked to be travelling strongly in similar affair. Follow.

race 6: super easy 2012 stakes kranji stakes d (2) (set weights) - 1800m course c (lc) (turf track) time: 15:25 prize money: s$38000

4 - GOLD REWARD - Gets back and runs on but finds it hard to win. Gets Michael Rodd and will be hard to hold out.
1 - NORTHERN KNIGHT - Caught wide early and ran on solidly last start over 1600m. Has placed previously over this trip and with a positive ride should be hard to hold out.
2 - RICH BEAUTY - Got well back and never likely last start when resuming over 1200m. Will find this class and distance more suitable an can win.

race 7: captain obvious 2011 stakes class 4 premier - 1200m course c (lc) (turf track) time: 15:55 prize money: s$60000

3 - ELISE - Only battled on poly last start but better suited here and gets 4kg claim. Not helped by the gate but has the speed to cross and should be hard to run down.
1 - GOLD CROWN - Has been freshened and will appreciate drop in grade. Better over 1400m but gets Michael Rodd and should be running on.
2 - SAVAGE STORM - Sat wide with cover and battled away last start on poly. Better drawn here and drops in grade. Can make his presence felt.

race 8: better than ever 2010 stakes kranji stakes a (set weights) - 1800m course c (lc) (turf track) time: 16:30 prize money: s$125000

1 - NOAH FROM GOA - Had a few excuses at Singapore debut and will improve for the effort with blinkers off.
4 - SECRET WIN - Very promising stayer who won at very long odds when resuming over 1200m and could be hard to hold out this trip.
2 - BLUE SWEDE - Form starting to read badly but trip and track suits and will be running on strongly.

race 9: jumbo jet trophy (sg3)(3 year old and upwards) (condition weight)(rider allowances not permitted) - 1400m course c (lc) (turf track) time: 17:05 prize money: s$200000

4 - CIRCUIT LAND - Freshened after tough run in the Kranji Mile but suited at the conditions and can win.
14 - KINGSMAN - Very disappointing in the Derby but would give this a shake on form prior with just 51kg.
1 - DEBT COLLECTOR - Resuming after a frustrating run of good form without a win. Trial suggests he gives this a shake.

7 - MILLENNIUM'S RULE - Had heavy support and also not suited by the E Course last start and pay to follow with blinkers off.
4 - BASILISK - Improved effort when running on last start and has trialled well since. Can win with Placais from gate 3 a factor.
3 - KRANJI GOLD - Broke overdue maiden status when stepping up the mile last start and pay to follow.

Go tell it to the to the marines

Do think about it and do think rationally, long and very hard about it - If you can genuinely tell me that you really know when and where your winners will come from !!

Or else

Go tell it to the marines,

or Go take a long walk off a short pier,

or let me put it to you bluntly - Go get stuffed

It does not much matter at all whether you are selling kachang puteh or a high roller.

It does not much matter at all whether you are selling kachang puteh or a high roller.

It does not much matter whether you are a treasure hunter, gambling, trading, investing or running a business (big or selling kachang puteh). All of them entail a fair degree of risk and a lot of hard work sprinkled with a generous helping of luck.

Zero-Sum Game

Zero-Sum Game

Zero-Sum Game

Poker and gambling are popular examples of zero-sum games since the sum of the amounts won by some players equals the combined losses of the others. In game theory, the game of “Matching Pennies” is often cited as an example of a zero-sum game. ... This is a zero-sum game because one player's gain is the other's loss.

Zero-sum is a situation in game theory in which one person's gain is equivalent to another's loss, so the net change in wealth or benefit is zero. A zero-sum game may have as few as two players, or millions of participants. Zero-sum games are found in game theory, but are less common than non-zero sum games.

In contrast, non-zero-sum describes a situation in which the interacting parties' aggregate gains and losses can be less than or more than zero. A zero-sum game is also called a strictly competitive game while non-zero-sum games can be either competitive or non-competitive.

All the World's a Stage

The meaning of this phrase is that this world is like a stage show, and all human beings are merely actors.

Jacques has spoken this famous phrase in Act-II, Scene-VII of the play As You Like It. He says, “All the world's a stage,/ And all the men and women merely players.” The meaning of this phrase is that this world is like a stage show, and all human beings are merely actors.
