Selections from Larry Foley for Kranji Sunday 19th August 2018.

race 1: open maiden (1) (weight for age) - 1200m (polytrack) time: 13:20 prize money: s$20000

4 - ATTENTION - Debut from wide gate very good with best work late and hard to hold out from the ace.
8 - PADDINGTON - Gate, bad start and E course made debut an impossible ask but happy to follow on trial from from better alley.
1 - GENERAL MARSHALL - Improved effort at long odds in Class 4 last start when blinkers added and pay to follow.

race 2: restricted maiden (2 and 3 year old) (weight for age) - 1100m (polytrack) time: 13:50 prize money: s$85000

6 - GOLDEN YEARS - Showed more than enough at Official Trials to win on debut in this weak field.
1 - ROYAL PAVILION - Race form terrible and drawn wide but having first run on the Poly and trials well enough on the surface to consider.
9 - SIAM BLUE VANDA - Had a good hit at Official Trial and should figure prominently on debut in this field.

race 3: class 4 premier - 1100m (polytrack) time: 14:20 prize money: s$60000

2 - GLENGALLON - Impressed when making every post a winner on debut from wide gate. Gets the ace here and can win again.
5 - FUSION POWER - Disappointing last start in similar affair but should be better than that and gets his chance with Duric up from gate 2.
1 - EFFORTLESS - Class dropper who finds it hard to win but will be motoring home. Goes close.

race 4: open maiden (2) (weight for age) - 1200m (polytrack) time: 14:55 prize money: s$20000

4 - LORD OF LIGHT - Will improve with experience but looks to have more ability than most of these so hard to hold out.
7 - WONDERFUL PAINT - The only debutante in the field and showed enough at his Official Trial to win with gate 3 a bonus.
1 - SILVER SKY - Had plenty of chances but placed in KSD company last start with excuses not to finish closer and can win this.

race 5: class 5 - 1600m (polytrack) time: 15:30 prize money: s$20000

4 - KASHAN - Form looks hopeless but blinkers back on after a good trial is significant and can win.
1 - ANGHIARI - Foot on the till and gets his chance from gate 1 in a suitable race.
6 - SPUR ME ON - Ran on well over 1000m last start and better suited this trip. Keep safe.

race 6: class 5 - 1000m (polytrack) time: 16:00 prize money: s$20000

1 - DRAGON GOLD - Foot on the till and drop to 1000m looks a good move.
3 - THOTH WARRIOR - Another that improves lengths back in Class 5 and more importantly back on the Poly. Can win.
2 - SATELLITE STAR - Form reads badly but grew a leg last time he dropped to Class 5 so is the big improver.

race 7: class 4 non premier - 1100m (polytrack) time: 16:35 prize money: s$45000

3 - AUTUMN ASSAULT - Did it tough in the Golden Horseshoe so could be forgiven for battling late and has trialled well since. Big show on form prior with winkers off.
2 - GOLDEN FLAME - Former Australian who only win was over 1300m but local trials good enough to win at Singapore debut.
11 - WITHOUT PREJUDICE - Excuses last start (gate and respiratory) and has enough pace to have a say here.

race 8: kranji stakes a (set weights) - 1100m (polytrack) time: 17:05 prize money: s$125000

1 - DISTINCTIVE DARCI - Drawn wide but went close at similar conditions over 1200m last start and must go close.
6 - RAFAELLO - Excuses not to beat Skywalk in the Korea Trophy and suited by the conditions so must be considered.
7 - SUPER FORTUNE - Rarely seen on the Poly but handles the surface and gets his chance from gate 2.

race 9: class 3 - 1200m (polytrack) time: 17:35 prize money: s$80000

7 - ENCHANTED MISTER - Overcame wide gate to beat a couple of nice types last start and can win again.
2 - WALKING THUNDER - Looks ready to win and race suits so have to consider.
5 - SPLINTER - Just missed last start in similar affair when blinkers added and gets his chance again.

Go tell it to the to the marines

Do think about it and do think rationally, long and very hard about it - If you can genuinely tell me that you really know when and where your winners will come from !!

Or else

Go tell it to the marines,

or Go take a long walk off a short pier,

or let me put it to you bluntly - Go get stuffed

ROFLMAO

It does not much matter at all whether you are selling kachang puteh or a high roller.

It does not much matter at all whether you are selling kachang puteh or a high roller.

It does not much matter whether you are a treasure hunter, gambling, trading, investing or running a business (big or selling kachang puteh). All of them entail a fair degree of risk and a lot of hard work sprinkled with a generous helping of luck.

Zero-Sum Game

Zero-Sum Game

Zero-Sum Game

Poker and gambling are popular examples of zero-sum games since the sum of the amounts won by some players equals the combined losses of the others. In game theory, the game of “Matching Pennies” is often cited as an example of a zero-sum game. ... This is a zero-sum game because one player's gain is the other's loss.

Zero-sum is a situation in game theory in which one person's gain is equivalent to another's loss, so the net change in wealth or benefit is zero. A zero-sum game may have as few as two players, or millions of participants. Zero-sum games are found in game theory, but are less common than non-zero sum games.

In contrast, non-zero-sum describes a situation in which the interacting parties' aggregate gains and losses can be less than or more than zero. A zero-sum game is also called a strictly competitive game while non-zero-sum games can be either competitive or non-competitive.

All the World's a Stage

The meaning of this phrase is that this world is like a stage show, and all human beings are merely actors.

Jacques has spoken this famous phrase in Act-II, Scene-VII of the play As You Like It. He says, “All the world's a stage,/ And all the men and women merely players.” The meaning of this phrase is that this world is like a stage show, and all human beings are merely actors.
